Picture of rapper JID JID born Destin Routeon, on October 31, 1990, in Atlanta, Georgia, as the youngest of 7. He is a rapper that is currently (as of September 26,2022) signed to rapper J. Cole's record label Dreamville with 3 albums released, all of which were released under the Dreamville label, and currently houses 20 million streams on spotify.
JID got his name as he was all over the place as a child which got him the nickname "Jiddery" from his late grandmother and uses JID as his stage name now because of it. He originally didn't have plans of becoming a rapper going to college under a football scholarship which would later get revoked from him as revealed in his song "2007". While he was in college he was friends with a producer which would keep pushing him to rap as he was already rapping over his beats but never dropped any of his music. He then also would meet rappers from his hometown Atlanta Johnny Venus and Doctur Dot who are known as "Earthgang" who are also now signed to Dreamville with JID and they would create a group called metropolis.
JID losing his scholarship would ultimatly lead him into leaving the college and heading back to Atlanta but he would get kicked out by his father as they had a disagreement with his father thinking he should either go to college or get a job while JID was passionate over persuing the rap game.

The Never Story, JID's first album, released on March 10,2017 under the Dreamville label is also the album which sky rocketed his fame. The album contains features from artisit Earthgang, Mereba and 6lack. The album was very well acclaimed by critics as it was a change from the usual mumble rap that is popular and is instead a well thought out lyrical album.
JID in past interviews has said how this album meant a lot to him as it speaks on his struggles and was just a huge load let off of his chest

DiCaprio 2, JID's second album, released Novemeber 26,2018 under the Dreamville label named after his favorite actor Leonardo DiCaprio and a follow up to a album that is no longer around today DiCaprio. Originally the album had a different album cover being a picture of Leonardo DiCaprio but they did not own the rights to the photo so they were forced to change it.
The album takes a slight change on topic with it covering things such as competition, loyalty, critcism, depression, drug abuse and women's empowerment. However this change was not for the worse as the album continued his rise to fame with the song "Skrawberries" even being put in a video game called "2K20".The album was also even more well recivied by critics. This album has features from artist 6lack, ASAP Ferg, BJ the Chicago kid, Ella Mai, J. Cole, Joey Bad***, and Method Man.

The Forever Story, JID's third and latest album, released August 26, 2022 under the Dreamville label which is also one of my favorite albums right now and is his most popular as inbetween the release of this album and the last he released song, Surround Sound, Dance Now and was featured on a Imagine Dragons song for a League of Legends show, Arcane which is on Netflix (watch it if you haven't very good show).
This album speaks on his struggles and rise to fame along with problems with his sister and having to change for romantic relationships. It also shows how big of an impact football has on his life from refrences to getting personal fouls to using hall of famer in his song Shannon Sharpe. This album includes features from artist Kenny Mason, Earthgang, 21 Savage, Baby Tate, Lil Durk, Ari lenox, Yasiin Bey, Lil Wayne, Johnta Austin, Ravyn Lenae and Eryn Allen Kane. Along with a special guest apperiance from J. Cole at the end of his last song 2007 which isn't on the album officaly because of issues clearing the samples but he has said to listen to it as the last track. The track wraps up and basically summarize everything in the album and goes a bit more in depth with parts of his like getting his scholarship taking and getting kicked out once he returns home.
